In a meaningful step toward fostering inclusive education, the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) at Isabela State University-Cauayan officially turned over a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, complete with a Bluetooth keyboard and headphones, to Rosalinda Acio, a BA English Language Studies student with albinism and visual impairment. The turnover ceremony was held today at 10:00 AM at the SAS Faculty Room, marking a significant milestone in the University’s ongoing efforts to provide accessible learning tools for students with special needs.
This initiative was made possible through the efforts and support of Dr. Marisol Foronda, the campus Academic Affairs Director, who played a pivotal role in securing the learning device for Rosalinda. Dr. Foronda emphasized that this gesture aligns with ISUโs vision to ensure that every student, regardless of their condition, is provided with the necessary resources to thrive academically.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, with its large display and advanced accessibility features, is expected to serve as an essential learning aid for Rosalinda, helping her engage with course materials through screen magnification, text-to-speech, and voice input functions. The accompanying Bluetooth keyboard and headphones will further assist her in participating in online lectures, writing assignments, and accessing audio-based learning resources.
Dr. Krisha Camille R. Angoluan, BA English Language Studies (BAELS) program chair, was also present during the turnover and expressed her gratitude for the University’s commitment to inclusive learning. “This initiative demonstrates how we, as an academic community, are working together to address the needs of every student. We are all here to support Rosalinda in her educational journey,” she said.
The gesture demonstrates Isabela State Universityโs broader mission of creating a supportive learning environment for all students. By providing Rosalinda with these resources, ISU-CC demonstrates its commitment to promoting equality and ensuring that no student is left behind in their academic pursuits.
