Highlighting the significant contribution women provided in nation building, Isabela State University-Cauayan City Campus commenced the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with an all women cast of Lupang Hinirang flag raising ceremony prompted by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office in front of the admin building, March 3.
Arnold Pascua, GAD Focal Person and coordinator of the event, thanked the cooperating offices for their help in organizing and informed the staff of the upcoming activities centered on this year’s theme, βLipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayanβ.
Such activities expected for this month include adorning offices with purple elements as a tribute to women, a GAD Forum to be conducted by the Supreme Student Council, and free healthcare check-up by the campus Health System Unit among others.
Additionally, according to Pascua, this occasion demonstrates the universityβs commitment in fulfilling their mission by supporting and promoting gender equality within the institution and community.
This engagement also aims to educate and become a platform raising awareness on the ongoing challenges women face.
Simultaneously, the campus, through this initiative, can inspire students, particularly young women, to strive for success and to challenge gender norms and stereotypes.
NWMC reflects ISU-CCCβs dedication in tackling gender issues and equality as an educational institution by fostering empowerment that aligns with the university’s mission and vision.
