Isabela State University Cauayan Campus steered the official launch of the 2025 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) as it joined forces with the City Government of Cauayan, the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Office, alongside several other public and private agencies that strengthened the eventโ€™s advocacy and reach, at the BGD Sports Complex, November 25.

The campaign opened with the national theme, โ€œUNITE for a VAW-Free Philippines: Empower Voices, Engage Allies, End Violence,โ€ and cemented the collective mandate of agencies and institutions to confront gender-based violence and safeguard the welfare of women and children.

Prof. Dr. Marisol S. Foronda, Executive Officer of ISU Cauayan Campus, ignited the program with an opening message that highlighted the campus’ firm role in advancing gender equality. She underlined ISUโ€™s initiative to mobilize students and personnel as active stakeholders in building a safe, inclusive, and empowered community. Her remarks challenged participants to transform awareness into sustained advocacy and decisive action.

Cauayan City Administrator Ms. Czarah Jane S. Dy fortified the event with a strong message on behalf of the City Government. The program also featured a video message from Mayor Hon. Caesar “Jaycee” S. Dy Jr., who emphasized the cityโ€™s resolute stance against all forms of violence and called on partner institutions to continue driving community-based initiatives that protect women, uplift children, and strengthen local mechanisms for prevention and support.

ISU Cauayan commanded a strong presence during the Kick-Off Activity and the Orange Run: โ€œTakbo Para sa Kababaihan at Kabataan Laban sa Karahasan.โ€ With its overwhelming turnout of faculty, staff, and students, the campus clinched recognition as the Biggest Delegation, emphasizing its consistent advocacy and sustained community mobilization.

The campusโ€™ Gender and Development Office, led by Dr. Arnold T. Pascua, orchestrated key initiatives that ensured the smooth execution of the campaign. Through organizing activities, rallying participants, and building partnerships both within and beyond the campus, the office showcased ISU Cauayanโ€™s active leadership in promoting gender-sensitive programs and creating a tangible impact in the community.
