Isabela State University (ISU) Cauayan Campus intensified its research development efforts by launching a high-impact, one-day In-House Capability Building Seminar-Workshop designed to drive faculty researchers toward publication success in the SUKISOK Journal of the Arts and Sciences, December 5.
The strategic workshop, โFrom Writing to Publishing: A Practical Workshop on Getting Your Research into SUKISOK,โ mobilized faculty members to refine, strengthen, and finalize their manuscripts through guided training and hands-on development sessions.
Prof. Dr. Lorelei C. Tabago, Director of Research and Development/Knowledge and Technology Management, opened the program, asserting the universityโs determined push to elevate research productivity and expand SUKISOK contributions across campuses.
The seminarโs momentum was driven by two of ISUโs foremost publication leaders. Dr. Paul Angelo A. Tamayo, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and SUKISOK Chief Editor, led the session, โCrafting Publishable Manuscripts: How to Write Effective IMRAD Papers.โ He equipped participants with firm and actionable strategies for structuring scientific papers and reinforced these techniques through a focused writing exercise.
In the succeeding session, Ms. Concordia Marie A. Lagasca-Hiloma, SUKISOK Managing Editor, mapped out the complete publication journey in โThe Publication Process: How to Submit, Revise, and Successfully Publish in SUKISOK.โ Her presentation clarified review standards, revision protocols, and key elements that determine acceptance.
In the afternoon, a Manuscript Development Clinic pushed participants to draft, revise, and troubleshoot their manuscripts with real-time guidance from experts and R&D staff. This segment anchored the day’s learning and allowed researchers to transform theory into concrete outputs. The workshop culminated with short output presentations.
With strengthened competence and clearer publication pathways, ISU faculty researchers are now positioned to significantly boost the volume and quality of submissions to the SUKISOK Journal that advance the campus’ research reputation and impact.
