Isabela State Universityโ€“Cauayan Campus successfully maintained its ISO 9001:2015/AMD1:2024 certification following the completion of the 2nd Surveillance Audit for 2025, December 19.

The audit assessed the campusโ€™ Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), confirming the institutionโ€™s adherence to international standards and operational excellence. Notably, no nonconformities were found.

Auditors conducted rigorous full-day assessments, engaging departmental management in interviews, reviewing performance data, and evaluating staff competence in implementing management system requirements. The process verified that all operations consistently met expected outcomes and aligned with ISO protocols.

The audit highlighted several commendable achievements: the campusโ€™ leadership advanced the QMS with decisive direction; records were meticulously maintained, including management review reports, SWOT analyses, risk registers, and quality assurance documentation; and the campus achieved 100% compliance with applicable legal requirements, including key government procurement and archival laws.

Noteworthy accomplishments included strong AACCUP Accreditation results (87%) and Certificate of Program Compliance outcomes (89%), as well as impressive client satisfaction scores: 93% for external services and 92% for internal services. Environmental initiatives, such as the ban on single-use plastics and weekly campus clean-up drives, reflected the universityโ€™s drive to sustainability.

Financial and operational performance also stood out, with total revenue from commercial operations reaching 136.05% of targets. ISU Cauayanโ€™s recognition in national examinations, including top ratings in the Criminology Licensure (88.72%) and Elementary Teacher Licensure (91.95%), further emphasized its initiative to high-quality education.

The audit also commended the campusโ€™ research and development processes, particularly the alignment of documented procedures with actual practice in proposal preparation and submission. Auditors observed the clear sequence and interaction of activities, including the conduct of the campus research proposal review for 2026 funding presented on November 18, 2025, and the subsequent issuance of Memorandum No. 07, Series of 2025, upon approval.

Research initiatives were further recognized for their relevance and impact, with studies addressing flood control management and disaster risk reduction. These projects emphasized mitigation strategies such as early warning assessments prior to infrastructure improvements, estimation of affected populations, risk reduction planning, and the advancement of disaster risk reduction digitalization.

The campus’ extension and outreach programs substantiated social responsibility, with initiatives like โ€œActs of Kindness: A Year-End Outreach of Hope, Help, and Healingโ€ supporting local communities. Academic departments maintained inclusive, student-centered environments while promoting anti-discrimination policies and environmental stewardship within classrooms.

These achievements, driven by the collective effort of all personnel, extend beyond meeting standards and reflect a shared culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the campus.
