Isabela State UniversityโCauayan Campus celebrated the 2026 National Womenโs Month under the theme โLead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!,โ spotlighting the courage and wisdom of the Babaylans while urging modern Filipinas to guide their communities, advocate for change, and inspire action, March 16.
The program featured inspiring remarks from Assoc. Prof. Arnold T. Pascua, PhD, Director for Planning and Development and GAD Focal Person, who urged attendees to take an active role in promoting inclusive communities. Ms. Gwen D. Apiado, a BSE 3rd-year Filipino student, delivered a poignant spoken poetry piece celebrating the resilience and spirit of Filipino women, while a video presentation showcased ISU Cauayan’s accomplishments across various sectors. Prof. Marisol S. Foronda, PhD, Executive Officer, concluded the program by encouraging participants to embrace leadership, advocate for equality, and live out the values of the Babaylans in their everyday lives.
Aligned with the 2023โ2028 National Womenโs Month Campaign, โWE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society,โ the celebration emphasized the ongoing work to close gaps in economic participation and political representation and highlighted that achieving gender equality requires the collective effort of Women and Everyone, including individuals, communities, and institutions, to build an inclusive society.
