The 2026 Isabela State University (ISU) Commencement Exercises echoed with a call to embrace responsibility beyond the classroom as graduates received the message of the House Speaker of the 20th Congress of the Philippines, Hon. Faustino โBojieโ G. Dy III, ably represented by the Honorable Vice Governor of the Province of Isabela, Hon. Francis Faustino Kiko A. Dy, July 22.
Speaking on behalf of House Speaker Dy, Vice Governor Dy challenged the graduates to recognize that commencement signifies more than the completion of academic requirements.
He emphasized that graduates now assume a greater role in society as they become examples for the next generation.
The message highlighted that earning a diploma also carries a responsibility that extends beyond personal aspirations.
The House Speaker’s message also recognized the people whose sacrifices paved the way for every graduate’s success, stressing that each diploma reflects a shared journey.
Echoing the same message, Vice Governor Dy reminded the graduates that while a diploma bears only one name, it represents an entire family’s perseverance and belief.
“Your diploma may only have one name, but behind it is a story of a family that never stops believing in you.”
Recognizing the rapidly evolving global landscape, the address also urged graduates to cultivate adaptability amid technological transformation. The message highlighted the growing influence of artificial intelligence and the need for lifelong learning.
“Artificial intelligence is transforming the way we study, the way we work, and live.
The commencement ceremony convened more than 3,000 graduates, parents, faculty members, university and campus officials, and guests in celebration of the campus’ newest degree holders. Leading the academic ceremony were Prof. Marisol S. Foronda, PhD, Cluster Executive Officer of ISU Cauayan, and Prof. Boyet L. Batang, PhD, the 7th President of Isabela State University.
