The Isabela State University–Cauayan Campus strengthened its research-to-publication pipeline as faculty and research personnel underwent an intensive training on transforming Research, Development, and Extension (RDE) outputs into scholarly and instructional products at the campus amphitheater, October 8.

Spearheading the training was Prof. Gilbert C. Magulod Jr., PhD, CESE, University Director for Knowledge and Technology Management and Publication at Cagayan State University, who equipped participants with strategies for recasting research outputs into publishable scholarly contributions and research-based instructional products.

The training opened with the orientation, “From RDE Outputs to Scholarly and Instructional Products,” setting the direction for the day’s sessions on maximizing the academic value of completed research.

Participants explored the development of research-based instructional models through the 5Es Instructional Model, examined how bibliometric studies can map research trends, scholarly networks, and knowledge gaps, and learned to transform research insights into short, focused, and publishable scholarly communications.

The training moved beyond conceptual discussions as participants engaged in a hands-on scholarly product development workshop. Working collaboratively, they developed outputs, presented their work for peer feedback, and applied the critiques to strengthen, revise, and finalize their products.

The activity convened academic and research leaders who guided the program from its opening to its culminating synthesis. Prof. Liezl Joy L. Quilang, PhD, Director for Academic Affairs, delivered the opening remarks; Prof. Genalyn L. Capelo, PhD, Research Coordinator of the College of Education, presented the participants; and Prof. Lorelei C. Tabago, PhD, Director for Research and Innovation Services, introduced the resource speaker.

Through the training, ISU–Cauayan broadened the routes through which RDE-generated knowledge can reach scholarly platforms and instructional practice, amplifying the value of research not only as an academic output but also as a source of publishable knowledge and usable educational products.
