Isabela State University (ISU) has surged into the 401–600 bracket of the 2025 Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings, marking a bold leap from its 1001+ debut just two years ago. The university’s steady rise signals its growing command in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ISU outpaced dozens of local institutions, tying as the second-highest ranked university in the Philippines alongside the University of the Philippines and Batangas State University. Among 121 Philippine universities included this year, ISU’s climb stresses a targeted effort to align academic work with global development priorities.

In 2023, ISU appeared in the global ranking for the first time, landing in the 1001+ tier with a modest score across 11 SDGs. By 2024, it had moved into the 801–1000 bracket. This year’s jump reflects not just higher performance, but also sharper data reporting, improved faculty initiatives, and increased student involvement in SDG-driven programs.

As more Philippine universities join the global stage, ISU’s trajectory offers a model for strategic, values-driven transformation, anchored not in prestige but in purpose.
