Isabela State University (ISU) guided Region 02 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) toward a unified cultural direction as it led the Online Regional Culture and the Arts Festival Training Workshop via Zoom on February 16, in preparation for the Cagayan Valley Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (CAVRASUC) socioโcultural festival and competitions.
The initiative was led by Prof. Boyet L. Batang, PhD, President of the Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges Region 2, and Prof. Freddie R. Cabrera, PhD, ISU University Director for Socio-Cultural Affairs. With project leadership anchored at ISU, the university served as the coordinating institution for policy alignment, operational direction, and regional standard-setting.
At the same time, the workshop emphasized the regionโs aligned institutional engagement among Region 02 SUCs, with active participation and resource inputs from Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), Cagayan State University (CSU), Philippine Normal University North Luzon (PNU NL), Quirino State University (QSU), and Batanes State College (BSC). Speakers and facilitators from these institutions delivered technical sessions, shared best practices, and clarified category-specific standards.
Socio-cultural directors, coaches, and trainers from ISU, NVSU, CSU, PNU, QSU, and BSC engaged in intensive discussions that recalibrated festival systems and tightened adjudication standards anchored on the Manual of Operations. The body examined procedural gray areas, resolved recurring implementation issues, and synchronized campus-level practices to ensure consistency across institutions.
