The framework for a smarter and more sustainable urban future started to crystallize as Isabela State Universityโ€“Cauayan Campus, the Local Government Unit of Cauayan City, and the Department of Science and Technology formally initiated strategic planning for ISCENE 2026: International Smart City Exposition and Networking Engagement, February 27.

Set on April 9โ€“11, 2026 at the Isabela Convention Center, ISCENE 2026 will carry the theme โ€œCo-creating Smart and Sustainable Communities Through People-Centric Innovation.โ€ The three-day international gathering is poised to convene policymakers, urban planners, technologists, researchers, industry leaders, and civic stakeholders in a decisive push toward data-driven governance and inclusive digital transformation.

During the initial coordination meeting, institutional leaders delineated operational frameworks, mapped thematic tracks, and aligned strategic priorities. Discussions centered on smart governance systems, resilient infrastructure, digital public services, sustainable mobility, smart agriculture, and community-anchored technological solutions. The planning session emphasized a shared initiative to ensure that innovation remains accessible, ethical, and responsive to local realities.
