Fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Legal Management (BSLM) students of Isabela State University recorded a strong showing at the International Conference on Public Administration, Law, Political Science, and Criminal Justice 2026, held under the International Society of Transdisciplinary Researchers, Educators, and Leaders, April 27.
The delegation presented twelve research papers, competing against entries from various academic institutions. From 22 abstracts, BSLM researchers secured four Best Abstract Awards, reflecting consistent performance in policy-centered inquiry and applied legal research.
Award-winning studies included an investigation on Republic Act 10361 (Batas Kasambahay) compliance among domestic workers in Poblacion, Cauayan City; an analysis of demographic factors affecting voting behavior in Barangay San Fermin; an evaluation of the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Law of 2015 in local governance; and a policy study on traffic management measures in Cauayan City.
Individual recognition was also given to Ms. Princess Mae Mariano and Mr. Jefry Wacguiyan, who earned Best Presenter Awards for their delivery and handling of discussions on traffic policy and electoral participation.
The outputs highlighted recurring local governance and public policy issues, translating field data into research outputs presented in an international academic setting.
Research advisers, Atty. Roberto Valenzuela and Asst. Prof. Marvin Cabantac, supervised the studies and supported the students throughout the preparation and presentation stages. The delegation also acknowledged Isabela State University-College of Computing and Communication (ISU-CCC), Prof. Marisol S. Foronda, PhD, and Assoc. Prof. Dionicio D. Gante for logistical and institutional support that facilitated participation in the conference.
