Seeking to bridge classroom instruction with field application, Isabela State University Cauayan Campus Aurora Extension deployed 32 Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students to FDN Integrated Farm for training on basic farm machineries and mechanization, May 8.
The activity immersed students in actual farm operations and introduced them to mechanized farming systems used in contemporary agricultural production. Participants engaged in the handling, operation, and maintenance of farm machinery while observing field procedures employed in large-scale farming activities.
The training also fortified the universityโs industry linkage initiatives and responded to recommendations raised during the recent Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) evaluation, which emphasized the importance of sustained partner engagement and direct student exposure in agricultural settings.
Faculty coordinators highlighted that the immersion sharpened studentsโ technical competence and enabled them to connect theoretical instruction with operational realities in modern agriculture. The activity further strengthened collaboration between the campus and agricultural stakeholders in advancing field-based instruction and workforce preparation.
