The 4H Club of Isabela State University Cauayan Campus–Aurora Extension strengthened its role in community-based food production after receiving ₱100,000 worth of agricultural equipment and farm inputs from the Department of Agriculture (DA) under the Gulayan sa Bayan Project of the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) during a turnover ceremony at the DA–Nueva Vizcaya Experiment Station in Tayapa, Villaros, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, July 2.

The package equips the student organization with essential production resources, including a multi-cultivator, plastic drums, sprinklers, pipe clips, seedling trays, plastic mulch, polyethylene film, and vegetable seeds. These interventions are expected to strengthen vegetable production, improve farm efficiency, and support sustainable gardening initiatives on campus and in partner communities.

The turnover formed part of the Department of Agriculture’s continuing investment in youth-led agriculture, recognizing the capacity of student organizations to translate government support into productive, community-centered initiatives.

Representing the municipality of Aurora, the delegation included Municipal Agriculturist Ms. Fredelyn T. Gajes and members of the 4H Club of ISU Aurora Campus led by its Extension Corrdinator, Asst. Prof. Cipriano M. Ticman Jr., PhD. Their participation highlighted the collaboration among the Department of Agriculture, the local government, and the University in advancing agricultural development through youth engagement.

The initiative reinforces the role of higher education institutions as partners in cultivating resilient communities and sustaining the country’s food production agenda.
