Isabela State University-Cauayan Campus and India-based KhetiValah brought Philippine and international agricultural perspectives together to advance more sustainable and climate-resilient rice-based farming systems during the 56th KV Dialogue Global Series via Zoom, August 28.

The dialogue, themed “Building Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Rice-Based Farming Systems,” featured Mr. Jhimcelle V. Salvador, OIC Assistant Director of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Region 02, as a resource speaker.

Salvador shared insights on strengthening rice-based farming systems amid mounting climate pressures, highlighting the need for agricultural approaches that can sustain productivity while responding to environmental challenges.

The dialogue also emphasized the value of cross-border knowledge exchange in addressing shared agricultural concerns, particularly in rice-producing communities whose livelihoods and food systems remain vulnerable to climate variability.

ISU Cauayan officials, faculty members, and students participated in the 56th KV Dialogue Global Series, among them were Asst. Prof. Cipriano M. Ticman Jr., PhD, ISU Cauayan Campus Aurora Extension Coordinator; Assoc. Prof. Ryan P. Salviejo, Director for Public Relations, External Linkages, and International Affairs; and members of the Institute of Agricultural Technology.

Through the KV Dialogue Global Series, ISU Cauayan and KhetiValah strengthened an avenue for sharing knowledge, perspectives, and practices toward a rice sector capable of withstanding climate challenges while sustaining agricultural productivity and rural livelihoods.
