The Isabela State University (ISU)โ€“Cauayan Campus secured 502 board feet of confiscated forest products from the Department of Environment and Natural Resourcesโ€“Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Cauayan City, September 22.

The turnover followed a 1,000-board-foot request initiated by Mr. Romel Agcaoili of the Polytechnic School Faculty for the rehabilitation of classrooms and the fabrication of tables and chairs for students. DENR-CENRO subsequently released 16 pieces totaling 1.18 cubic meters, comprising 12 Molave flitches and four Mahogany flitches, following the prescribed disposition process.

Engr. Proceso S. Canapi, CENR Officer of DENR-CENRO Cauayan City, executed the Deed of Donation on behalf of the agency, while Prof. Marisol S. Foronda, PhD, Cluster Executive Officer of ISUโ€“Cauayan Campus, formally accepted the materials for the university.

The forest products originated from seizures conducted by the National Bureau of Investigationโ€“Isabela District Office and DENR-CENRO Cauayan City. Authorities subsequently placed the materials under DENR custody pending proper disposition. Their release to ISU was authorized following the Order of Finality issued on July 21, 2026, by DENR Regional Executive Director Atty. Ismael T. Manaligod, CESO III.

The formal acceptance took place at the DENR-CENR Office in Barangay Sillawit, Cauayan City, marking the completion of the transfer from government custody to the campus.

The materials will support ISUโ€“Cauayanโ€™s institutional requirements, translating a campus resource request into a concrete contribution from a government partner and redirecting legally disposed forest products toward public educational use.
